Holiday Napkin Rings
Now that you have a ribbon braided candle holder to use on your holiday table, it’s time to make some coordinating napkin rings. The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating napkin rings with ribbon, so I will show you a few different methods today.
- Napkin rings
- Craft or hot glue
1. Start out by grabbing some old napkin rings that need a little pizzazz added to them. I found these plain gold ones and thought that they would make great holiday napkin rings.
A. Start out by gluing a piece of ribbon around the napkin ring to make a band. I used 3/8″ evergreen satin.
B. I made a small bow to cover up where the ribbon overlapped. I took a 4 inch piece of 3/8″ red satin and folded it in half making sure to create a crease. Fold both sides into the crease and secure with glue.
C. Flip your bow over so that the glued edges are facing down. Glue a small piece of 3/8″ red satin ribbon over the center of the bow to create a “t”.
D. Fold the ribbon around to the back and secure with a small dot of glue. Cut off the excess and you have your bow!
E. Glue your bow onto your napkin ring and you’re done!
A. Glue a piece of ribbon to the inside of the ring at an angle. Wrap the ribbon around the napkin ring keeping the angle until you reach your starting point. Use a small dot of glue to secure the end of your ribbon. I call this my “candy cane” napkin ring
A. Using the tutorial from our Braided Ribbon Wreath, create a ribbon braid using 3/8″ or 5/8″ ribbon depending on the size of your napkin ring.
B. Glue the braid around your napkin ring and you have a beautiful napkin ring to match your candle holder.
I hope these inspire you to create your own custom napkin rings this holiday season!
